Midtown Comics3 locations: 200 W. 40th Street – Midtown West, 459 Lexington Avenue – Grand Central: Midtown East, and 64 Fulton Street – Downtown.  Besides comics, they sell books, figures, statues, movies, and more.  Friendly and knowledgeable staff.  This place is huge, and highly recommended while breaking from New York Comic Con.

Forbidden Planet. 840 Broadway, at the corner of 13th Street & Broadway.  Large NYC comic book store with a good t-shirt selection.  Also contains a large selection of anime, graphic novels, toys, and figures.  Just south of Union Square.

St. Mark’s Comics11 St. Marks Place, between 2nd & 3rd Avenue, East Village.  Action figures, toys, and plenty of comics.  Although they have other items, they focus on comic books.  The employees know their stuff so feel free to ask questions.

Bergen Street Comics470 Bergen Street, between 5th Avenue & Flatbush Avenue, Park Slope/Prospect Heights.  A Brooklyn comic book store focusing on comic books, graphic novels, and original artwork.

Jim Hanley’s Universe4 W 33rd Street, between 5th Avenue & Broadway, Midtown West.  A huge, 25+ year old comic book store near the Empire State Building.  A favorite comic haven for many comic book geeks.  Purchase your New York Comic Con Tickets here.
