10 Best Cheap Theater Tickets in New York City (5 to 1)
5. MOMA. 11 West 53rd Street, Midtown, 212-708-9400. Museum admission and movies are free on Fridays between 4-8 pm. Tickets are on a first come, first serve basis.
4. Cobble Hill Cinemas. 265 Court Street, Brooklyn, 718-596-9113. This older theater is the cheapest theater in New York City at standard ticket prices of $9.50. Play indie and big screen movies. Bargain days are all day Tuesdays and Thursdays, Monday-Friday before 5pm, and first shows on weekends when admission is only $6.50.
3. AMC Loews Kips Bay 15. 570 Second Avenue, Murray Hill, 212-447-0638. This AMC theater plays independent and mainstream films. Located near the East River. Movie tickets are $6, every day, before noon.
2. AMC Loews Lincoln Square 13 with IMAX Theater. 1998 Broadway, 212-336-5020. Another casual, relaxing AMC theater with all the popular movie hits. Tickets are $6, every day, before 12 pm.
1. AMC Empire 25. 234 West 42nd Street, Times Square, 212-398-3939. AMC theater prices are usually $12.50, but if you see a show before noon, tickets are only $6, 7 days a week. That is a bargain for NYC standards and the AMC Empire 25 seats give you the most room and are ultra comfortable. Note: All AMC theaters have this early bird special, but these three are our favorite movie theaters in NYC.
