CabSense NYC. Free – Analyzes GPS information from local taxi services to determine the best location to find taxis in New York City. Provides directions and looks for the best places to catch a cab at time you plan to ride later in the day.

N.Y. Zombies. $.99. Zombies have taken over New York City and you need to fight your way out to survive. One of the best zombie games available for the iPad & iPhone.
Zipcar. Free. Many New Yorkers love Zipcar hourly car rentals as owning a car in the city is a burden. Locate and reserve a Zipcar with this iPad & iPhone Application. View available rentals via map or sort cars by time available, type, and model. Even allows you to honk the horn on your rental and lock/unlock your Zipcar rental.
LocalEats. $.99. A top rated app on iTunes according to Macworld. New York City has so many restaurants that your really need a way to filter them out to find the best eats. My favorite restaurant app because it focuses on local restaurants and contains no information on the big chains. Perfect to find a new date spot or a new birthday dinner location.
