11:00 am t0 6:00 pm: Columbus Day FestivalOn Broadway from Liberty St. to Battery Place & on Whitehall St. from Stone to Water Street.  NYC street fair.  Free event.

11:30 am to 3:00 pm:  The Annual Columbus Day Parade on Fifth Avenue, New York CityFifth Avenue from 47th to 72nd Streets.  35,000 marchers and 100 bands participate for 1 million people at this NYC parade celebrating the spirit of exploration with Christopher Columbus’ expedition.  Free event.

7:30 pm: Mary J. Blige with Jazmine Sullivan, Miguel & El DeBargeRadio City Music Hall, 1260 6th Avenue, Midtown.  October 11 and October 12.  R&B diva, Mary J. performs songs live on love and heartbreak.  Tickets $65.75 to $165.75.

From October 11 to November 6 in Manhattan and November 8th to November 19th in Queens.  Free samples of Malaysian cuisine from nine NYC restaurants.  Sample dishes include chicken satay, dry beef curry, and more.  Food samples available while supplies last.  Free food tasting.

7:00 pm: NYC Halloween Haunted House115 West 27th Street, Ground Floor, between 6th and 7th Avenues.  October 12th to October 31.  This is not your typical cheesy haunted house, they take scaring you seriously.  No one is allowed to enter under 18 years old.  All visitors must brave this 20 minute tour alone.  Experience tight spaces, pitch black rooms and halls, crawl spaces, and violent scenes.  Yes, they do touch here to fully immerse you in the frightening experience.  Tickets $15 to $30.
