5. Louis 649. 649 E 9th Street, East Village. A great place to hide away, catch up with a friend or partner over some drinks and great jazz. Seductive live jazz music and an extensive cocktail menu including a great whiskey and wine bar. No cover here, it’s free, but you should tip a few bucks for the band. 4. Jazz Standard. 116 East 27th Street, Flatiron. Jazz Standard is a combination of jazz and BBQ. Makes you feel like you’re somewhere down south. The BBQ is from Blue Smoke upstairs and is delicious. Seats are spacious so you can easily spend hours here soothing your soul with great music and stomach with great barbecue plates. 3. Birdland. 315 West 44th Street, Theater District, Hell’s Kitchen. A swanky jazz club with a great bar and menu. Every Friday, the house big band performs a spectacular show. Not a typical jazz spot as far as decor goes due to it’s touristy feel, but the music is consistent and one of the best jazz shows in NYC.
2. Dizzy’s Club Coca Cola. 33 West 60th Street, Upper West Side. This is the place to go if you want a romantic evening with great jazz music. 1. Smoke. 2751 Broadway, Upper West Side, Manhattan Valley. Terrific, intimate jazz venue with live bands 7 nights a week. The atmosphere is romantic, chill, yet lively and seductive. An exclusive NYC jazz spot where you can combine a show with dinner or just grab drinks. The best jazz club in New York City!
