10. APT. 419 W 13th Street, Meatpacking District, West Village. A hard-to-find two-story loft in the Meatpacking District mixes high-style, loft comfort, and dance into one. Sit on the ultra soft and large couches or dance the night away to the DJs mixing hip-hop, soul, funk, disco and more. With it’s elegant decor, comfortable lounge, and dance floor, APT is effortless and one of the best funk dance clubs and lounges in NYC.
9. Cain. 544 W 27th Street, Chelsea. Cain attracts young, beautiful people. This modern dance club and lounge filled with twenty year olds is a popular spot. DJs spin hip-hop and house music giving the crowd a good variety that pleases all. Insane decor, fun crowds and good drinks makes this one of our ten best clubs in Manhattan.
8. Mehanata. 113 Ludlow Street, Lower East Side. A popular young dance club with live music and DJs in LES. This Russian style bar has a caged vodka ice room where you get locked in for a few minutes and drink all you can vodka. Let’s see who can walk straight in an hour after the ice cage. Mehanta plays European club music as well as live local bands and somber Saxophone Eastern European songs as the night hours pass. A wild, crowded club with plenty of cheap drinks and tons of dancing; unlike any other club in the city.
7. Santos Party House. 96 Lafayette Street, Chinatown, TriBeCa. Santos is a two-level, 8,000 sq ft venue playing different music on the two floors to please all. Good atmosphere with little or no cover. Play hip-hop, reggae, top hits at this large venue. Mixed crowds and cheap drinks. Earlier in the evening, they allow 18 and over, then it becomes a 21 and up club.
6. Sullivan Room. 218 Sullivan Street, Greenwich Village. One of New York’s clubs devoted to underground music. Enjoy local DJs and international talents in this 1,000 sq ft venue. Cover is typically low or there is no cover. Tech, house, electronic vibe club open Wednesdays through Sunday 10pm – 5am. Located between Bleecker and West 3rd Street.

5. Club Shelter. 150 Varick Street, SoHo. Located in the Garment District and opened in 2002, Club Shelter is owned by DJs and passionate music veterans. That means the club focuses on good music and top DJs. The owners put heart and soul into the music and find local and international DJs to pump the club. The diversity of the crowd and dancing all around make this a fun atmosphere for all. With insane hours, this House club is the best after hours club in the city hands down.
4. Love. 179 MacDougal Street, West Village. Literally underground, Love features local and international DJs primarily deep house music. Great house music, the dance floor, and low covers make this place popular for mixed crowds. The maximum cover I have paid here is $15, but sometimes it’s as low as $5. One of New York’s best sound systems.
3. GoldBar. 389 Broome Street, Little Italy, Nolita. An ultra sophisticated lounge dance club with chandeliers and gold skulls. Gold skulls literally line the walls. This stylish, sexy decor Attracts crowds throughout the night. One may wonder, am I in a golden version of the Parisian Catacombs? Moving on … GoldBar is a great place to wind the night down after club or bar hopping. Never experienced a place this crowded, but the music is good and GoldBar is a gorgeous place to dance the night away. Drinks are typical Manhattan club prices.
2. S.O.B. 204 Varick Street, SoHo. A premier world music venue that has been around for over 25 years. Great live music club featuring latin, soul, reggae, world music in SoHo. This Latin venue is filled with color and personality. Make a dinner reservation earlier in the evening and stay for the dance club. Dance to the latin jazz, salsa, hip-hop and more. The world’s up and coming artists stop through often. Service and decor is top notch, you will not be disappointed. Catch celebrities such as Kanye West and Common. Also, on the first Thursday of every month they have Basement Bhangra. Basement Bhangra is one of their most popular events. The Bollywood beats at this unque event draw lines around the block and advance tickets are only $10. S.O.B. attracts a variety of crowds. Best world music and talents in New York City.
1. Cielo. 18 Little W 12th Street, West Village, Meatpacking District. Located between Ninth Avenue and Washington Street, Cielo is a popular dance club with the best house music in the city. They have one of the better sound systems in any club in NYC. Cielo is most popular with and attracts mid-twenties to mid-thirties crowds. Great on the weekends, but better if you go mid-week. This place gets packed on the weekends from the bridge and tunnel crowd. This venue is not as large as other NYC clubs, so it always feels like there are plenty of people. The DJs always play the best mixes of house and electronic music. Cover is on the higher end, $30 on the weekends. Most popular house club in NYC.
