hmm.. I usually get really bad haircuts. It seems to me as though most barbers don’t know the first thing about how to deal with the shape of my head, so my hair follows my head curves instead of giving it shape. It’s not all about cutting hair symetrically, it’s about studying the head of the customer and making it look awesome. Haven’t met the first barber that did that. but then again, I rarely spend more than $30 on my cut
I got the worst haircut of my life at Frank’s Chop Shop. As in, I had to go buy a hat on Canal Street after leaving (enraged) and immediately went to another place to try to fix what they botched.
I wouldn’t wish Frank’s on my second-worst enemy. On my worst, yes, certainly.
You’d be better off doing your hair yourself with a steak knife.

Walked in from work to Barber Shop on 56th, after reading other reviews, because I needed a quick trim. Joseph was the best, very attentive and gave me exactly what I looked for. Just took off a little bit off and fixed a previous cut. Everything I could have asked for, no BS, hair wash and massage. Also straight razor cleaned up the neck line with warm foam, classic barber touch. Right to the point, expertly cut.
