NYC’s 10 Best Hot Drinks for Wintertime

Lets face it, NYC can become quite chilly during the winter months.  While walking around in the cold weather, it is essential to stay warm with a hot drink.  For that extra kick of warmth, make it a spiked hot drink.

Hot Chocolate – The City Bakery’s 19th Annual Hot Chocolate Festival.  3 West 18th Street, near 5th Avenue, Flatiron.  A near flavor of hot chocolate each day in February including Banana Peel Hot Chocolate, Vanilla Bean Hot Chocolate, Malted Milk Hot Chocolate, Bourbon Hot Chocolate and Sunken Treasure Hot Chocolate.  Each hot chocolate from The City Bakery is unique because they are made with chocolate bars instead of cocoa powder and heavy cream for an extra thick consistency.  Each cup of hot chocolate is served with a giant homemade marshmallow.

Cha-an Japanese Tea House.  230 East 9th Street, 2nd Floor.  A NYC teahouse with a full tea menu and their famous black sesame creame brulee.  Offer takeout for those on the go.  Many types of tea including oolong, black, green, pur-erh, white, herbal, and more.

Whiskey Spiked Hot Cider - Destination Bar & Grille.  211 Avenue A, at the corner of 13th Street, Alphabet City.  A simple cider served in tea cups spiked with a hardy whiskey to shake off the winter chills.

Hot Wassail – The Drink.  228 Manhattan Avenue, between Maujer & Grand in East Williamsburg, Brooklyn.  Spiced apple cider, tart apricot and cherry stomp, ginger & your choice of rum or bourbon.
