5. Gottino. 52 Greenwich Avenue, West Village. This elegant wine bar is open for brunch all week. Sit inside or in the garden and savor the scrumptious menu. 4. Moto. 394 Broadway, Williamsburg, Brooklyn. A vintage, French restaurant with great atmosphere and food. Famous for their house eggs and date cake. Be adventurous and try their breakfast beer, which is espresso with Guinness. Surprisingly it is better than it sounds! The ambiance is one-of-a-kind, and the food entrees are generous and flavorful. 3. Dell’anima. 38 Eighth Avenue, West Village. A weekend brunch menu with an innovative Italian twist. Two favorites include the flavorful praised pork polenta and the uova in purgatorio, which are baked eggs with pancetta, shallots and a spicy tomato sauce with rosemary. 2. Harry’s Cafe & Steak. 1 Hanover Square, Financial District. One of my favorite brunch restaurants in New York City. Drink free champagne cocktails with your meal. 1. Mercadito. 179 Avenue B, East Village. Devour this Mexican restaurant’s weekend brunch entrees after a night out in the Big Apple. The menu is full of spices, Mexican cheeses and much more. Order some mimosas, select your entree with rice and beans, and as they say, you have your perfect hangover cure. Favorites include totada de hongos which are crispy corn tortillas, wild mushrooms, pinto bean hash, manchego cheese, tomatillo salsa, and epazote crema fresca. If you cannot make it out of bed, they deliver!
