Monday, August 30

1:00 PM to 5:00 PM – Brooklyn Bridge Park’s Tug & Barge Week. Free Dockside Tug & Barge Visits.

Tuesday, August 31

11:00 AM to 6:00 PM – Welcome Back to Columbia University Street Fair. 120th Street from Broadway to Amsterdam Avenue.

2:30 PM to 6:00 PM – Nine West Enlists Top Models to Step for Fashion Targets Breast Cancer. West 12th & Gansevoort Street. 1st 10 to show up win Modelina boots and the next 25 receive a free signed copy of Nigel Barker’s book.

6:00 PM to 7:00 PM – Free Belly Dancing Class with Lisa Rickenbacker of the Chelsea Improvement Company. 14th Street park on 14th Street and 10 Avenue. Learn the Sharqui technique, which will strengthen your core. For beginners and advanced belly dancers. Classes each Tuesday and Thursday until September 28.

Wednesday, September 1

5:30 PM to 7:30 PM – Vanilla Star and Wet Seal Blow Out. 42B West 14th Street between 5th and 6th Avenue. Vanilla Star presents their new BTS collection designed by high school students from the High School of Fashion Industries in New York City. Hosted by DJ Phil Kross of Z100. Includes stylist advice and a karoake contest for a chance to win a free outfit.

6:00 PM to 7:30 PM – Volleyball After Work. Esplanade Plaza at Battery Park, south of North Cove. Event takes place each Wednesday until September 29th. Scorekeeper and balls provided.

Thursday, September 2

10:30 PM – God Tastes Like Chicken Comedy Show at Under St. Mark’s. 94 St. Mark’s Place, between Ave A & 1st Avenue. Event takes place the 1st Thursday of each month until September 2012. Improv and sketch comedy.
