New York City Summer Street Fairs. Street fairs on Saturday, July 3rd are at the following locations:
USO – Avenue of the Americas Summerfest. 6th Avenue from 42nd to 56th Street. A free New York City street fair. Merchandise and food is available for purchase.
Baseball – New York Yankees vs. Toronto Blue Jays. New Yankee Stadium at 1:05 pm. See: Best of sports in New York City

The Great July 4th Festival. On the water from Fulton Street to Broad Street. A free New York City street fair. Merchandise and food is available for purchase.
Baseball – New York Yankees vs. Toronto Blue Jays. New Yankee Stadium at 1:05 pm. See: NYC’s Best of Sports
Nathan’s 4th of July Hotdog Eating Contest. Starts 10:30 am on Coney Island. The worlds top professional eaters come together for the Super Bowl of Hot Dog eating events at Nathan’s. Grand prize is $50,000. See: New York City’s 10 Best Hot Dogs and 10 Best Reasons to Visit Coney Island
Rosanne Cash presented by Trinity Wall Street. Colonels’ Row at Governors Island. See Rosanne Cash, Johnny Cash’s Grammy award winning daughter perform at this free concert on the 4th. Free ferry service begins at 10:00 am. Concert begins 2:00 pm.
She & Him with Oakley Hall. The Beach @ Governors Island. Beach opens at 10:00 am, take the free ferry over. She & Him perform at 4:00 pm. View their video below. 
Dan Zanes Jam & Jubilee The Battery 4th of July Concert and Family Festival. Battery Park, State Street, and Battery Place. Dan Zanes and friends jam including a 76 trombone parade. Space is limited, this concert is first come first serve and is appropriate for all ages. Doors open at 1:00 pm, concert starts at 2:00 pm and Dan Zanes performs at 3:00 pm.
Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks in New York City. Hudson River with barges from 24th to 5oth Street, West Manhattan. The most famous 4th of July fireworks show in America is over the Hudson, lasts 26 minutes, includes over 40,000 shells, and is set from six barges. Broken down, that is over 1,500 exploding shells per minute. The best views are anywhere along the Hudson River on 12th Avenue from 23rd to 59th Street. It will get packed so be there by 5:00 pm. Bathrooms are scarce to non-existent. Come with a group and bring a blanket, folding chairs, food, and entertainment until the show begins. You can also view the fireworks from New Jersey, in Weehawken and Hobboken. Battery Park, Hudson Park Prominade and the Hudson River Bike Path will be closed to the public. Where to watch Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks without having to show up hours early for a street view:
- Hudson Terrace Rooftop Lounge. 621 West 46th Street. Tickets are $175 and up. Enjoy four hours of top-shelf open bar, BBQ, champagne, and a 180 degree view of the Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks show. Sunday, July 4th, from 6:30 pm to 10:30 pm.
- The USS Intrepid. Pier 86, 12th Avenue & 46th Street. $100 per ticket allows you to chill on the Intrepid’s flight deck for the ultimate view of the Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks show. Also includes a museum tour and DJ. Doors open 7:00 pm to all ticket holders with fireworks at 9:20 pm. See: 10 Best Museums in New York City
