5. Chinese New Year Parade. Chinese New Year lands on Valentine’s day, February 14th, 2010 this year. The Chinese New Year Firecracker Ceremony and Cultural Festival occurs on the new year in Columbus Park and the Chinatown Lunar New Year Parade & Festival is on February 21st, 11:30 am – 4 pm. See the firecracker ceremony, lion and dragon dancers, traditional costumes and celebrations on these two festive days. If you can only make one, the latter is the way to go.
4. Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. Bryant Park, Sixth Avenue at 41st Street. The city will be in chaos during Fashion Week, February 11-18. Enjoy the fashion inside the tents or outside as the designers, models, and celebrities arrive.

2. New York Restaurant Week. Try some of the popular restaurants in NYC without paying the normal high prices. NYC Restaurant Week started January 25th and runs till February 7th, 2010. See: NYC’s Best Restaurants & Food
1. Ground Hog Day. Staten Island. Staten Island Chuck will make an appearance and make his prediction at 7:30 am on February 2nd at the Staten Island Zoo. You can see him all day. This is a free ceremony.
