New York City’s 10 Best Weekday Lunch Restaurants

Acquedolci181 Grand Street.  This Italian deli in Soho has specialty sandwiches for about $8, all of which are highly recommended.

Lansky’s. 235 Columbus Street.  A classic Jewish deli with over-sized sandwiches, burgers and matzo ball soup.  Try the Lansky’s grilled cheese, made with crispy pastrami, cheddar and tomato on rye.

Hummus Place 5 Locations:  East Village, 109 St Marks Place; West Village, 71 7th Ave. South, and 99 Macdougal Street; Upper West Side, 2608 Broadway, and 305 Amsterdam Ave.  This authentic spot is filled with accents, so you know the food is real.  Great lunch specials.  This is some of the best hummus I have ever had.

Caracas Arepa Bar93 1/2 E 7th Street.  This Latin American restaurant in East Village is a good choice for lunch or dinner.  Lunch is a better time to go as there is rarely a wait.  Lunch special includes your choice of arepa, a corn pancake filled with shredded meat, and a great ensalada mixta.

Barbarini Alimentari225 Front Street.  An Italian restaurant in the Financial District with fresh gourmet ingredients.  Stop in for some pasta, salad, sandwich or their tiramisu dessert.  Everything is good here.
