Whether you’re Jewish or not, celebrate Jewish survival and religious freedom with Hanukkah in New York City. Here is a list of the 10 best Hanukkah events in NYC to see:
1. Lighting of the World’s Largest Hanukkah Menorah. Grand Army Plaza in Manhattan, Fifth Avenue at 59th Street. The World’s Largest Hanukkah Menorah lightening begins December 11th at 5:30 pm and occurs each night of Hanukkah ending December 19th.  This Menorah stands 32 feet tall, weighs 4,000 pounds, and will be lit using a cherry picker.
2. Festival of Choirs. Congregation Rodeph Sholom-7 West 83 Street. Over 250 Jewish children and adults gather to perform for this special show on Sunday, December 13th at 3 pm at Rodeph Sholom’s Annual Festival of Choirs Concert. This is a free event, and all proceeds benefit the MAZON-a Jewish Response to Hunger.
3. Hanukkah Festival. Lexington Avenue at 92nd Street. The Hannukkah Festival at the 9nd Street Y is filled with music, shows, performances, storytelling and a puppet show! Get creative and build a menorah, make candles, decorate a dreidel, dress up as a Maccabee and produce delicious olive oil – and you even get to take it home with you! $20 for Adults and $15 for Children, this large festival occurs from 10:30 am till 1:30 pm on Sunday, December 6th.
4. Menorah Horah. Southpaw at 125 Fifth Ave., Brooklyn, NY. Celebrate the Third Annual Menorah Horah in New York City on December 12th, 7-10pm. A unique take on the Jewish Hanukkah holiday. The Menorah Horah features a cabaret burlesque act with the Schlep Sisters aided by Klezmer punk band Golem and drag sensation Kenny Mellman, aka Herb of Kiki & Herb.
5. Jewltide. Southpaw at 125 Fifth Ave., Brooklyn, NY. Another event at Southpaw in Brooklyn, NY.  Brought to you by the Jewish Book Council, this event features the Dan Saks & The Funkadeli All-Stars, and is held on December 24th. Join the party, get on the dance floor and enjoy the funk classics! Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door.
