10. Circus Sideshow. Corner of Surf Avenue & West 12th Street in the Coney Island amusement park. Coney Island was once famous for sideshow performers and acts within the amusement parks. Circus Sideshow recreates a traditional 10 in 1 circus sideshow with acts like a strongman, sword swallower, snake charmer, and other strange and bizarre performances. Experience a one of a kind jaw dropping show as it was in the early 1900s.
9. Coney Island Beach & Boardwalk. Corbin Place to West 37 Street, Coney Island, Brooklyn. With less than 3 miles of beach, Coney Island beach is a great escape from the stuffy, polluted city air. 6. Deno’s Wonder Wheel Amusement & Kiddie Park. Over the summer Coney once again opens its amusement parks and rides. An official NYC landmark, Deno’s Wonder Wheel was built in 1920. The ferris wheel is 150 feet tall and holds 144 people. The wheel is shown in the opening of The Warriors and several other NYC movies.
