Performers and thrill seekers have flocked to New York City to become famous performing unprecedented stunts for the public.  Some of the stunts and performances like David Copperfield’s Statue of Liberty disappearance illusion were staged while Philippe Petit walking on a tight rope across the top of the Twin Towers was not.

7.  Criss AngelCement box escape above Times Square.  June 2007.  Escaped a box he was inside filled with concrete.  At a specific time the box was dropped from the ground, however, Angel escaped before it crashed and remained unharmed.

6.  Evil KnievelJumped from one skyscraper to another.  Evil Knievel made motorcycle jumping famous with his jumping stunts.  He is most famous for his televised failed jump of Snake River Canyon with a steam powered rocket.

5.  Alain Robert scales New York Times Building (1,046 feet).  Alain Robert, known as the French Spider-man, defines urban climbing by scaling tall buildings and structures around the world.  Robert’s successful climbs include the Eiffel Tower, the Sydney Opera House, the National Bank of Abu Dhabi, Sears Tower/Willis Tower, and others both legally and illegally.  He illegally attempted to climb the Petronas Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia but was arrested at the 60th floor.
