4.  Cubberly-Britton Cottage, aka Britton Cottage, 1670. Historic Richmond Town, Staten Island. Residence of the Britton family, 1695-1714, and again from 1860-1915, botanist Nathaniel Lord Britton, who created the New York Botanical Gardens, resided in the house from 1895-1915.  Parts of the house date back to 1650.  See:  Best Things To Do In Staten Island

3.  Billou-Stillwell-Perine House, 1662. 1476 Richmond Road, Staten Island. Rumored to be haunted, the Billou-Stillwell-Perine House was built by one of the original Dutch settlers, Pierre Billou.  This is the oldest Dutch Colonial structure on Staten Island still in existence.  See:  Best Things To Do In Staten Island

2.  John Bowne House, 1661#1 Bowne Street at 37th Avenue, Flushing, Queens.  Oldest structure in Queens that was used by Quakers as a meeting place and where owner John Bowne was arrested.  The Browne family lived in the house until 1945.  Rumors claim the it was used as a safe house for the Underground Railroad.  Currently a museum, but closed for renovations.  See www.bownehouse.org for more details.

1.  Pieter Claesen Wyckoff House, 1652. 5816 Clarendon Road, Brooklyn. Located in Milton Fidler Park, the Pieter Claesen Wyckoff House is one of the first structures built by Europeans on Long Island and is the oldest surviving example of a Dutch saltbox frame house in America.  A National Historic Landmark.  See:  Best Things To Do In Brooklyn
