10.  The March.  June 27, 2010.  5th Avenue to  the West Village, Manhattan.  Civil Rights and gay awareness parade that originally started after the Stonewall Riots in 1970.  The March stands for the fight against AIDS and to remember those who died from it as well as pride in the gay community and lifestyle.

9.  New York Dance ParadeMay 22, 2010 at 1:00pm.  Starts Broadway and 28th Street, through Union Square to University Place, left on 8th Street – St. Marks to Tompkins Square Park.  Sign up on www.danceparade.org to participate and dance in the parade.  The New York Dance Parade celebrates the art and fun of dance by showcasing its diversity with floats and dancers.

8.  Greek Independence Day ParadeApril 18, 2010.  5th Avenue, Manhattan.  Be one of 150,000 spectators watching this Hellenic identity celebratory parade with 26,000+ Greek participants.

7.  New York’s Village Halloween ParadeOctober 31, 2010.  6th Avenue from Spring Street to 21st Street, Greenwich Village.  If you want to participate, come early in costume to the parade which also features 53 bands, puppets, dancers, and artists.  20,000+ come in costume each year with even more spectators.

6.  Mermaid ParadeJune 2010 (exact date TBA).  Coney Island, Brooklyn.  Celebrate the beginning of the summer at the beach in Coney Island, New York City, with this parade including mermaids, lighthouses, ocean animals, Neptunes, and a celebrity Queen Mermaid and King Neptune.  Come early, it gets crowded with up to 100,000 in attendance.
