1. The Muppets Take Manhattan, 1984. Kermit, Miss Piggy, Cookie Monster, and all the other muppets invade NYC to attempt to get their musical “Manhattan Melodies” on Broadway.
2. Ghostbusters, 1984. Ghosts invade New York City which require three scientists, Bill Murray, Dan Akroyd, and Harold Ramis to start a service to capture them. As a kid I watched this movie over 10 times.
3. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, 1990. Four humanoid turtles – Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael and Michelangelo – battle criminals in their hometown of New York City with martial arts and live in the sewer.
4. Superman and Superman II, 1978. Watch Christopher Reeve, Gene Hackman and Marlon Brando in these classic films. Both movies were filmed simultaneously in New York City, which doubled for Metropolis, the name of the main city in the movie.
5. Spider-Man series, 2002. A comic book adaptation; see Tobey Maguire try to live up to his superhero responsibilities in NYC.
